Treviso Chicory
Treviso chicory leaves are delicious in salads, and the ribs are used as a base for risotto and soups. Small plants are often grilled or pan fried.
Plant during late June and transplant out in July. November/ December pull them up with roots and put them in trays of soil or water in the dark for three weeks. They will produce new red and white leaves and heart up. It is an important blanching process as part of growing Treviso chicory.
